This web exhibit introduces viewers to important figures who perpetuate or fight against the myth of Holocaust denial, as well as the 1955 film Night and Fog.
Lachlan Davidson 2021 – The Memories of Fascism in Two Separate Germanys
This research paper explores how the memory of WWII and the Nazi regime differed in the capitalist West Germany (BRD) and the communist East Germany (DDR). This paper especially explores films from both East and West Germany that reflect upon the legacy of Nazism, and physical memorials and other lieux de memoire that still stand today.
Turner Horn 2021 – Film and Memory of the Second World War
This project investigates how WWII was remembered in Western Germany through Rainer Fassbender’s 1978 film, The Marriage of Maria Braun, which acts as an allegory for Germany’s rebuilding after the Second World War.
